HB 1633 - A local bill relating to Okalossa Gas District

More information on House Bill 1633 that will allow Okaloosa Gas to encroach into the Natural Gas of Milton Service Area.  This bill does not create competition or choice for consumers.  It replaces the current provider with a higher-priced one.  In Milton, 1 Mcf of gas cost you, the consumer, $22.26.  Under Okaloosa Gas, you will pay $27.00 for that same amount of gas.  Natural Gas of Milton is run by the City.  You have a voice in that governance.  Okaloosa Gas is run by a Board of Directors looking to maximize profits.  You will have no voice in how they operate and what rates they charge.  You have already paid for gas pipelines and other infrastructure to be put in place where Okaloosa Gas wants to provide service and will have to install a new gas system.  Contact your Senator and Representative now and let them know you do not support this bill.
