Detective Steve Mistovich wins state award

Chief Tony Tindell and Detective Steve Mistovich

The Milton Police Department is proud to announce Detective Steve Mistovich, Jr. received the Lee McGehee Police Officer of the Year award for small agency at the Florida Police Chief’s Annual Conference in June.

Det. Mistovich investigated several difficult cases in 2018 including a homicide. One jury foreman sent a letter to MPD, stating “Without his diligence, persistence and dedication, I’m sure the outcome of the trials might have been different.”  His meticulous and steadfast approach and long hours were evident to the jury.

Milton Police Chief Tony Tindell said, “His compassion and dedication to serving the community of Milton is a true asset to our department. I’m very proud of him and honored to have an officer who displays such a level of professional service to our city.”
