City Project Status

Military turtle

T-28 Display

The static display T-28 airplane at Milton High School is undergoing repairs to the structure.

The aircraft was loaned to the city by the National Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola Naval Air Station.

The aircraft work will include:

  • remove corrosion, sand and paint 
  • remove mold 
  • treat the pedestal and podium corrosion and repair pedestal and podium cracks 
  • repair aircraft's windscreen

Marina Building

Demolition-Asbestos survey is complete. The city is awaiting cost estimate of demolition. Milton City Council's decision on future direction will be determined during capital expenditure prioritization process.

Police Station Expansion

Recent construction includes foundation poured, framing complete. Next steps to be coordinated.

Storage Shed at Milton Event Center

The installation of the shed is scheduled. Building purchased.

BMX Track

The BMX track the city will build is scheduled to begin at the end of the fiscal year, August-September of 2019.

Stewart Street Flag Pole

Flag and paint purchased. Arranging for use of 100' boom truck. Lighting installed.

Disk Golf

 Course layout complete. Seeking grant funds for part of costs. Scheduling undetermined at this time.

Carpenter's Park Splash Pad

The city is working with Department of Environmental Protection regarding discharge permitting and developing new RFP (request for proposal).

Triumph Application

Re-authorship following Florida Legislative Session. Waste Water Treatment Plant meeting every other week. Legislative award is $500k.

Jernigan's Landing (Festival and Event Area)

Project almost complete. Fencing to be installed around holding pond.

WiFi Installation at Guy Thompson Community Center and Riverwalk Park

Currently, staff is investigating costs of installing WiFi at Riverwalk Park. Guy Thompson Community Center WiFi is online.

Broad Street Condominium Project 

Survey is ordered, closing almost completed.

Affordable Housing

Sub-committee continues to explore possibilities of allowing tiny homes in certain residential districts.

Sewer System Expansion Analysis

New customer analysis underway to determine WWTP project support.

Fire Department Training Facility

Capital improvements proceeds accumulating for project initiation.

MPD Drug Task Force

Joint powers agreement complete. Awaiting review.

Riverwalk Park Lighting

Project underway, awaiting lighting for hand rails and piling.

Main Street Milton Community Facade Program Applications

7 applications from local businesses under review. Requests total $23k.

Santa Rosa County Courthouse Future

Seeking council direction and county input on project.

Lot Pine and Elmira Area Drainage

Filling and grading underway
