A Call for Artists

The city of Milton is making a call for artists to compete in the Wings over Milton Public Art Contest. The contest is designed to bring creativity and imagination to the city, bringing human sized murals to provide interaction with public art; any type of wings for people to interact, photograph and share with friends.

The potential artist(s) will craft a mural(s) in various places within the city, (with property owner’s consent) where people can take photos, selfies or videos as a tourist attraction. This competition would be constructed to establish and develop aesthetically pleasing artwork for the community. The artwork could highlight the county’s aviation history.

A new marketing tagline “Local Utilities at Work, Natural Gas of Milton” will be utilized during the project.

The contest will both grant the winner with $500 and cover the cost of the artwork not to exceed $1,000 on a reimbursement Submissions must be in 8.5 x 11, full color in jpeg format. The selected artist will be recognized at the instillation site and may sign or otherwise "tag" the piece as shown in the examples below. The artist signature or tag must be shown in the submission. The City of Milton will own all rights to the work produced and may reproduce the image in anyway the City so chooses.
