The city received the Government Finance Officer’s Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award (GFOA), presented to Diane Ebentheuer, budget coordinator.
The award represents a significant achievement by the entity. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
This is the third year we’ve received such recognition. Diane does a great job,” said Mayor Wesley Meiss during the May 8 City Council meeting.
According to the GFOA press release, the guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and a communications device. Over 1,600 participants compete for the award.
