Ordinance #1469-18, Transmittal Package Comprehensive Plan Amendment had a second reading on February 13, 2018. The ordinance passed.
The plan is used to guide growth and development within the community. It also serves as the basis in the law for area zoning.
The amendment language indicates the, “The City of Milton values the historic character of its downtown area and desires to protect those resources from the adverse effects of any future roadway improvement.” This language will be inserted into three section of the plan. The result recognizes clearly the importance of the city’s historic central business district.
Once determined to be complete and if the amendment is not timely challenged, 31 days after the state land planning agency notifies the local government that the plan amendment package is complete it shall be deemed to be adopted. If timely challenged, this amendment shall become effective on the date the state land planning agency or the Administration Commission enters a final order.
