Elections

On April 13, 2021, at the regular City Council meeting, the Milton Council acted to appoint replacements to fill the unexpired term of Mrs. Sharon Holley and Mr. George Jordan. Under the requirements of the City Charter, the Council had 60 days to complete the appointment process.

On Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Executive Committee meeting, Council heard from each of the seven candidates vying for the seats. The candidates were:

Ward 3, Seat 1: Mr. Robert Leek

                               Mr. Henry G. Martin

Ward 4, Seat 1: Ms. Brenda S. Davis

                               Ms. Deborah Fowler

                               Ms. Jasline M. Franklin

                               Mr. Kristopher D. Long

                               Ms. Shari C. Sebastiao

Each Councilmember ranked their top two choices for each vacancy. By a vote of 5 to 1, Council appointed Mr. Leek to fill the Ward 3, Seat 1 and by a vote of 4-2, Council elected Ms. Sebastiao. The two will hold the seats until the 2022 election. Both new Councilmembers are small business owners in the City of Milton.

Both new Councilmembers were immediately sworn in by the City Clerk and participated in the remainder of the meeting.
