City Events

Milton's Parks and Recreation Department host several events each year
  • Bands on the Blackwater - free concerts held from April to June and again September to October
  • Big Screen on the Blackwater - free movies shown in July and in December.
  • Milton in May - festival to kick off summer with a car show, waterfest, barbeque competition and much more.
  • Scratch Ankle - local festival to assist non-profits held at the beginning of April.

Do you or someone you know make super delicious cupcakes? 

If so, then here is your chance to not only get bragging rights, but win the coveted handmade cupcake trophy!

The winning cupcake will enjoy fame and fortune as a celebrity on the Guy Thompson website, Facebook page, and city-wide media. First and Second Place awards will be given in both Novice and Professional categories as well as the People’s Choice award, chosen by the public. We will be adding an additional category this year, Youth/Teen for competitors’ ages 10-16 years old. The specialty category, will contain competitors choosing to offer Gluten Free or Vegan recipes.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, March 10th, at the Guy Thompson Community Center.

For those of you who would like to enjoy the cupcakes, on March 10th come to the Guy Thompson Community Center from noon to 3 p.m. and for a $5 entry fee, you can enter and enjoy sampling the bakers' cupcakes. You will also receive five valuable tickets as you will help select the special People's Choice Award.
